Basically career transition is the process of finding and moving into a new career. Some employees move and transit themselves, be it internally or externally, for various reasons, or may also due to company reorganization.
Employee transition may due to one or more of the following:
Transiting to a completely new job or even to a new sector or industry
Transiting into a new leadership role
Transiting to a new territory or location
Transiting due to redundancy
